TOP-CADFL: CAD/CAM File Control

Scope: This procedure covers the control of computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided machining (CAM) files.

STEP WHO WHEN INFO TO USE WHAT TO DO RESULTS
1 Engineer or Machining Department Programmer Print requires modification or new file CAD/CAM program; print Copy  file from H:\Anvil\Dies or begin a new file using code's name if not required to print for customer approval, put the file into the HP2 format (using icon); place the file into S:\Anvil\Viewer (using a batch file);  if required to send the print for customer approval, put the file into the HP2 format (using icon) and adding "preliminary" (using icon); place the file into S:\Anvil\Viewer (using a batch file); move the CAD file to WFCA sub-directory until customer approves the print; upon approval put the file into the HP2 format (using icon); place the file into S:\Anvil\Viewer (using a batch file); copy file back into H:\Anvil\Dies CAD/CAM files placed in working directory for changes; viewer files made; CAD/CAM files placed back in permanent directories
2 Engineering Assistant At least one time per day Files in F:\anvil\viewer; approved master drawings Check S:\anvil\viewer for files to be loaded  into the database; verify that master drawings represented by these files have been properly approved (see TOP-PRINT); if not approved, electronically mark "Preliminary"; do the importation using the tooling program; If an open order exist, Trinity Apps will run a query and display a list of all open orders under that die number; These jobs can be selectively highlighted to receive the change; delete files from S:\anvil\viewer Viewer database controlled and up-to-date; Print rev in Jobs Order Detail updated; S:\anvil\viewer files deleted
