Coaches: Machining Manager,
Machining Supervisor
Team member's role and responsibilities:
- Carry out machining duties as assigned by Supervisor or
Machining
Manager.
- Set up and inspect first machined part on any machine
assigned or other equipment in the shop.
- Troubleshoot fixturing, programming, and tooling on
first time setups.
- Perform floor level edits to programs as required to
achieve product conformance.
- Monitor and maintain critical characteristics of parts
being machined; particularly as related to aerospace components.
- Provide constructive feedback and suggestions for
improvement to programmer, supervisor, or other coaches.
- Operate in a safe manner and report any hazardous situations to any
coach.
- Mentor other operations as necessary.
- Support die sinking and production machining as
required.
- Strive for self and team improvement.
- Review and become familiar with
all TOPs related to this team position.
Rookie requirements:
- High school graduate or GED and five
years experience as a CNC Machinist
- Some mechanical aptitude; ability and willingness to learn.
- Completion of
GDTT training module within 180 days.
Physical activity involved:
- Some walking, extensive standing, sitting, bending, lifting of up to
50 lbs., pushing and pulling.
