TFTP-DHLP: Die Shop Helper

Coaches:  Die Shop Lead Man,  more experienced Die Shop Worker

Team member's role and responsibilities:

• Follow instructions concerning what new stock blocks must be machined to prepare for die sinkers.
• Help keep a clean working area around his work station.
• Retrieve steel block from storage racks and place them in the proper machine in order to proceed with shanking, cutting, and boring requirements.
• Adjust machines properly and monitor their operation.
• Learn how to use various pieces of equipment in the die shop.
• Operate forklift or "mule".

Rookie requirements:

• Ability to read specs and blueprints.
• Complete training module DSHP, DIST, DSNH, PRCP and TLSU

Physical activity involved:

• Standing; some walking, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling
• Some lifting of steel pieces weighing up to 50lbs.
