TFTP-DLED: Die Shop Lead Man

Coaches: Die Shop Supervisor

Team member's role and responsibilities:

• Assign work to die shop employees.
• Works closely with Die Prep employees to make sure all dies are prepped and ready to go on time.
• Work closely with Tooling Supervisor and die sinkers.
• Keep track of die shop schedule.
• Personally perform more difficult machining tasks.
• Assist die shop workers with job assignment.
• Send and receive dies from various die sinkers.
• Train die workers on the various lathes and machines.
• Ensure die shop quality of work.
• Become familiar with TOPs Manual, especially those procedures that relate to this team position.

Rookie requirements:

• A minimum of three years experience as a machinist or lathe operator; familiarity with mechanical characteristics of the various pieces of die shop equipment.
• Complete training modules DSHP and DIST also forklift and crane training within 120 days.

Physical activity involved:

• Some walking, standing, bending, and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
