Lead Man
Team member's role and responsibilities:
- Control the induction heating equipment to properly heat the steel.
- Feed steel through the induction heater as needed by the job.
- Perform minor and preventative maintenance of induction heating
equipment.
- Set up induction heater and assist with die changes.
- Alertness on the steel needed for the job before heating.
- Attention to detail so that heat codes are carefully tracked.
- Be sure the temperature and cycle time are always under control.
- Alert the hammerman on conditions that could cause bad parts, heat
code errors or down time.
- Raise unresolved problems to a foreman, lead man, or QC inspector as
quickly possible.
Rookie requirements:
- Completion of training modules TEMP and IHCC.
Physical activity involved:
- Repetitive of heavy lifting weighing up to 50 lbs., reaching,
twisting and bending with occasional climbing.
- Constant usage of arms/hands/knees/neck and waist
- 100% standing/walking, with constant usage of hearing/sight/speech
abilities.
- Job Conditions: In and outdoor weather, noisy, dirty, dusty, heat.
