Coaches: Production
Supervisor (Foreman)
Team member's role and responsibilities:
- Fill in for production foreman in case of absence.
- Help assign hammer crews to the various jobs as per production
schedule.
- Serve as mentor to hammermen and relief hammerman by assisting them
with technical questions in their learning process.
- Help train other hammer crew members.
- Work closely with maintenance personnel to minimize down time of
equipment and to work with QC personnel so that hammers produce good forgings
consistently.
- Become familiar with TOPs Manual, especially those procedures that
relate to the Production Department.
- Help plant superintendent and foreman guide production personnel to
achieve quality and productivity goals in a consistent manner.
- See that production and quality goals are achieved in a safe fashion.
Rookie requirements:
- At least five years experience in a forge shop working in most
facets of the forging operation, especially as a hammerman for three years.
- Familiarity with computers.
- Complete training modules HCRW, TEMP, HMSU, HAMR, IHCC, ROLL.
Physical activity involved:
- Extensive walking
- A lot of lifting of hot forgings with a pair of tongs.
