TFTP-QCLM: Quality Control Leadman

Coaches: Quality Assurance Manager

Team member's role and responsibilities:

• To implement quality control plans and inspection techniques assigned by QA Manager.
• Train personnel under his/her responsibility on aspects of Quality Control, such as use of measuring tools and theoretical understanding of SPC. 
• Assign QC Inspectors to the various hammers and to substitute for any one inspector as needed.
• See that all defects or deviation from specifications are reported promptly to shop foreman and hammerman to minimize the production of bad parts.
• Provide assistance or information to Production, Engineering, Machining, Post Forge, and customers.
• Perform computer data entry.

Rookie requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to relate well with all team members and departments.

At least three years of experience in Quality Control and/or five years of forging background, including familiarity with SPC concepts, instrumentation and communication.

Physical activity involved:

• Moderate walking and climbing stairs.
• Extensive periods of standing and working with a personal computer.
• Exposure to heat and cold.
