Team member's role and responsibilities:
Final Inspection-QC Inspector III
- Final inspection of
parts prior to shipping.
- Dimensional inspection
of key characteristic(s) using ANSI/ASQ..4-2003
- AQL inspection when
required
- Report immediately
all imperfections and deviations from spec to Forge Shop Supervisor so they
can take necessary steps to bring parts into spec.
- Final approval saying
the job covered by the Traveler has met all criteria, all steps and all
processes have been completed with minimal or no disruption to the work flow
of the Post Forge Department.
- Re-inspection of all
rework to assure part(s) is salvaged and meets customer requirements.
- MRB area, grinding
area.
- Correspond with the QA
Manager or QC Supervisor concerning disposition of parts.
- Continual training and
monitoring of Post Forge Workers and the QC Inspectors I.
- Make sure Post Forge
Workers are using sound inspection practices.
- Make sure that Post
Forge Workers are following the Traveler and using the proper containers.
- Setting height gage
for cones or when required as a downsize gage immediately upon request to
keep work flow constant at the Inspection Table.
- Re-strike and Cold Coin
inspection duties, including monitoring and recording chart data on all Cold
Coin processes.
- Visual inspect all
re-stamping using the customer and QC prints.
- Hand stamp
- Telesis
- Monitor all parts
rejected and scrapped by the Post Forge Workers and QC Inspector I.
- Substitute for QC
Inspector II as needed to perform the in process SPC duties.
- Perform sample box
tasks.
- Training and testing of all the above must be completed
twice during the first 90 days and yearly afterwards
.
Become familiar with TOPs, especially the procedures
that relate PREQC,
PROQC,
POSQC,
NOCON, and
FTEMP.
Rookie requirements:
- Sufficient experience in the production shop to
enable identification of a bad forging.
- Keen sense of observation and an eye for detail.
- Proficiency in using calipers and other measuring
devices, and a basic understanding of forging flaws that can be detected by visual
inspection.
- Complete training modules
COLD,
HOTI,
MATH,
CHRT,
MEAS,
TEMP,
PRNT,
CMMB, RDNC,
FAIN,
GAGE,
PRTC,
SBCT, and
STAT within 120 days of employment.
- Must complete training on Match, Concentricity, and
Symmetry within 60 days of employment.
- Forklift Training
- AQL Training
Physical activity involved:
- Extensive periods of standing: moderate walking.
- A lot of stooping & lifting, pushing, pulling
of forgings of up to 50lbs., and some bending from the waist down.
- Exposure to hot and cold enviroments.
