Team member's role and responsibilities:
- Check production schedule and prepare dies for next job on schedule.
- Be able to stamp dies and check dies with blueprints.
- Anticipate special needs for the job and retrieve dies and tooling
from storage.
- Label dies and follow storage procedures for easy identification in
the future; to impress code letters accurately on dies.
- Anticipate tooling and die needs and be prepared to provide hammer
crews with dies needed so that die change can be made efficiently.
- Be available to make minor die repairs or change upon short notice.
Rookie requirements:
- Some familiarity with production shop layout and die storage set-up;
at least six months of production shop experience.
- Complete training modules
TLSU,
DRPR.
Physical activity involved:
- Extensive periods of standing, moderate amount of walking, some
stooping and bending from waist.
- Lifting of die weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Some lifting of heavier dies using a long steel bar for leverage.
