Team member's role and responsibilities:
- Manage the raw materials and
customer supplied materials
- Control and report usage for Customer
Supplied Raw Material
- Purchase raw materials as needed by company to fulfill customer's
required specifications
- Monitor inventory levels, negotiate price and delivery terms with
vendors and monitor material pricing for quotations.
- Monitor status of "open" raw material purchase orders.
- Approve raw material for use on production orders when required.
- Release raw material for delivery from vendors who stock inventory
for us.
- Collect and assimilate forecasts, MRPs, etc. from customers and put
into spread sheets.
- Coordinate solicitation and approval of raw
material suppliers.
- Become familiar with TOPs related to
job
Rookie requirements:
- Minimum of five years experience in purchasing and
customer service.
- Management experience
- Proficient in use of computer
- Experience in working with computer spread sheets.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Complete training module and
TRAC.
Physical activity involved:
- Extensive periods of sitting
while entering data into PC.
- Some walking and climbing of stairs.
- Some time spent in shop environment - in steel yard to verify
inventory and to rectify paperwork problems involving raw material inventory.
- Limited business travel.
