TFTM-HMCS: Hammer Crew Safety

Taught by: Production Supervisor

Objective: To instruct the Hammermen and Utility Hammermen on their responsibility for the hammer crew's safety.

Syllabus: Session on Hammer Crew Safety

bulletHammermen and Utility Hammermen are responsible for the safety of the hammer crew members when forging parts, changing dies, moving dies, and repairing tooling at the hammers.
bulletHammermen and Utility Hammermen must make sure that the members of the hammer crew are working safely at all times.
bulletThey must also make sure that all crew members wear all of their personal protective equipment (PPE).
bulletThey must also make sure that all of the equipment at the hammer is operating in a safe manner.
bulletIf there are any safety violations or safety hazards, they must stop the hammer and report them to the Shop Supervisor.
bulletThey must also instruct all crew members to report any safety violations or safety hazards.
bulletThey should allow only certified forklift drivers to operate the forklifts.
bulletHammermen and Utility Hammermen must never allow any f their crew members to work on a hammer or any other kind of equipment that is unsafe.

Completion: Sign off by teacher that the Hammermen and/or Utility Hammermen have been instructed and has a good understanding of the hammer crew member's safety.
