Objective:

Understanding of basic material handling principles and terminology.

Understanding of paperwork associated with material handler control.

Understanding in detail how to issue and receive material.

Understanding in detail how to maintain, order and stock material.

Understanding in detail how to use material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

Explain procedures for ordering supplies and tracking time.

Syllabus:

Instructor walking employee through the shop and warehouse explaining how the material is ordered and what the different parts of the process are called.

Demonstration of where to find the different paperwork used by the material handler and how to fill it out.

Overview of duties outside of material handling employee may be called upon to perform.

Material handling equipment training modules employee must complete.

Observe employee performing material handling functions using material handling equipment.

Using in-process job cards, explain how and why they are to be filled out.

Completion: Sign off by instructor that training has been completed and employee expressed understanding
