TFTM-SUPR: Overview of Supervision

Objective:
bulletOrient Supervisor as to characteristics of a machined part and forging features where applicable.
bulletExplain pros and cons of different machines as they relate to machining techniques, fixturing and machining difficulties.
bulletUnderstanding procedures for tracking production time and methods.
bulletUnderstanding of basic Company principles and terminology.
bulletUnderstanding of reports and other paperwork associated with Supervision.
bulletUnderstanding in detail how to issue and receive assignments
bulletUnderstanding in detail how to maintain, order and file paperwork.
bulletUnderstanding how to use equipment safely and efficiently.
bulletExplain procedures for ordering supplies and tracking time.

Syllabus:
bulletInstructor walking employee through machine shop taking advantage of whatever machined parts are in production to demonstrate how to determine causes of machining difficulties and how to identify corrective action.
bulletUsing same parts explaining which features to avoid as fixturing points and why.
bulletIntroduction to crib attendant and overview of how crib works and locating shop supplies.
bulletInstructor walking employee through the Machine Shop and Warehouse explaining how the material is ordered and what the different parts of the process are called.
bulletDemonstration of where to find the different paperwork used in supervision and how to fill it out and where to file it.
bulletOverview of duties outside of supervision employee may be called upon to perform.
bulletObserve other Supervisors in action, other Supervisors observing employee.
bulletCompletion of fork lift and crane operation training films.
bulletUsing Made2Manage, explain how and why information is entered into the system.

Completion: Sign off by instructor that training has been completed and employee expressed understanding
