TFTP-YKSP: Steelyard Supervisor

Coaches:   Manufacturing Manager

Team member's role and responsibilities:

• Lead steelyard crew and use each person in the most efficient manner.
• Train new Steelyard employees on the use of various types of equipment (overhead crane, saws, shear, etc.).
• Work closely with production supervisor to keep supply line to hammers working smoothly; to work closely with purchasing department team members and Production Control Manager
• Ensure the traceability of heat codes.
• Ensure cutting tickets are correct and precisely followed.
• Ensure that production hammers do not run out of steel.
• Assign job tasks to the other steelyard helpers.
• Keep abreast of production schedule and anticipate job needs.
• Load and unload incoming and outgoing stock is loaded and unloaded.

Rookie requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least five years experience working in the steelyard and working knowledge of all steelyard equipment.

Physical activity involved:

• A lot of standing and some climbing.
• A lot of sitting working with a computer.
• A lot of working outside in all kinds of weather.
